California Maximum Fees
Maximum fees allowed for notarial acts.
The amounts below are maximum fees. The actual charge may be lower.
Up to $15 for each signature acknowledged, including the seal and completion of the notarial certificate.

Up to $15 for administering an oath or affirmation to one person.

Up to $15 for completing a jurat, including the seal.

Up to $15 for certifying a copy of a power of attorney under California Probate Code section 4307.

No fee may be charged to notarize signatures on vote-by-mail ballot identification envelopes or other voting materials.

Bring the complete document, but do not sign it beforehand when the signature must be witnessed.

The Notary Public cannot choose a document or notarial act for you or explain its legal effect.
